Limitations of Blogspot.com or Blogger.com as a Content Management System

Here's a list that I keep updated to keep track of limitations of Blogger for usage as a full-blown CMS for not just a simple blog site.

1. Does not permit users to control URL path (i.e http://yourdomain.com/your/custom/path). Blogger instead does it automatically. This prevents the following site features from materializing properly:

     a. Custom Application PATHS
     b. SEO-related URLs

2. Lacks custom variable definitions for data. This limits:

     a. The way you show content
     b. How you manage layouts and design layouts

3.  Does not support custom fields. This prevents us from creating custom lists or catalog from the blog post javascript:void(0)engine.

4. Support for native automatic sitemap generation. You have to manually crawl your own site to do this.

5. Management of robots.txt
